Joining Forces
GSF Teams up with AIS for Retrofit

Golden State Framers celebrates a new contract agreement with American Integrated Services, Inc. for the Youth Challenge Program located at the Joint Forces Training Base in Los Alamitos, California. Awarded in September 2007, this is the first of what GSF hopes will be many opportunities to do business with AIS.

The project will consist of renovations to two 1950’s vintage buildings and their transformation into residence halls and classrooms for an organized community geared toward underprivileged youths. The program, established in 1991 by the National Guard and run by the Youth Challenge Program, is designed such that it promotes academic achievement and establishes life skills for its diverse members.

Work includes demolition, seismic retrofit, roofing, building repair and site work. Vice President of Estimating Ron Shafer states, “We at GSF get a special sense of satisfaction any time we are able to land a project that is geared towards specific community improvement. Providing these types of facilities for our youth is essential to the future of us all.” Renovation construction is scheduled to begin early in 2008.

GSF Gains Knowledge and Makes an Impact in LA

The second annual California Construction Expo of 2007 proves to be a success for Golden State Framers. An all day event, the expo took place at the Los Angeles Convention Center on August 15th and was hosted by LAUSD, The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, and the Los Angeles Community College District. With over $150 billion available in public works programs, host agencies for the CalConExpo extended an open invitation for construction professionals, suppliers and industry insiders to generate new business relationships and gain a much needed competitive edge.

As a returning participant in the expo, Golden State Framers succeeded in once again becoming a major focal point in the trade show. Stationed in our own signature booth, now notorious within the trade show, members of the GSF family handed out giant Sequoia seedlings, Pacific Redwood seedlings, and Jerusalem Pine trees.

Gary Viano, General Manager of Golden State Framers, explains, “We at GSF look forward to making the LAUSD expo an annual keystone event. We pride ourselves on setting the standard in our industry and want to utilize every tool available. We made some great contacts this year. I’m excited to see where they take us.”
